Welcome to the Orlando-Central Florida Safe Families for Children page! Our chapter started in 2009 and serves the counties of Orange, Osceola, and Seminole.

We are a nonprofit ministry committed to coming alongside families in crisis by providing temporary respite care for children so families can get back on their feet.

Safe Families for Children is not foster care and children are not placed in the care of the State. Instead, children are placed with screened, trained, and compassionate volunteer host families. Through Safe Families for Children, parents voluntarily place their children with a host family because of any number of challenges they are facing, including:

• Sudden unemployment or loss of housing
• Financial difficulties
• Postpartum depression
• Acute illness or hospitalization
• Financial instability
• Domestic violence
• Drug or alcohol addiction
• Incarceration of one parent
